Remarriage Etiquette

FACT: About 75% of the people who divorce eventually remarry.

FACT: In all marriages, 43% have at least one spouse who was married before.

With figures like that, it's not surprising that remarriage has become a big business with marriage consultants and even a quarterly brides' magazine called Bride Again http://www.brideagain.com which features articles on the blended family and menopause and remarriage as well as how to throw a bridal shower.

Generally second marriages don't have all the hoopla but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be celebrations. One of the most joyous weddings we've witnessed was between a man and a woman in their sixties who left the church in a shower of rice thrown by his and her children, delighted that their parents had found happiness.
